Dialogue

I think the process of the dialogue and doing it was seriously one of my favourite and fun experiences in Storytelling. I understand it sounds sadistic that a conflict would make me feel so happy, however the process, understanding how a conflict takes place and observing a conflict conversation was seriously interesting.

One common observation that I spotted is often in many conversations is simply bad command of English. It does not matter if we are literate or well educated because at the point of a conflict, many of us just slip out with poor English or commonly known, ‘singlish’.  Example in every sentence spoken, I’ve observed how a ‘la’ or ‘leh’ is vividly used.

We can blame the people for using such language but somehow it has become a norm for Singaporean. Singaporeans are actually known for their ‘Singlish!’

I’ve tried to base my dialogue in relation to my race. Hope it makes a difference!

Dionel, this was a really funny dialogue submission. The topic is a bit way off but the emotions of the characters was superbly captured. I had a really good laugh when I listened to it. Thanks for the effort.
